Day 1: Arrival & Cultural Experience at West Kili Osiligilai Maasai Lodge

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcome with our Professional Safari Guide who will brief you about your safari program and transferred to the West Kilimanajaro at Osiligilai Maasai Lodge.

This lodge offers an authentic Maasai cultural experience, providing an immersive stay in the heart of Maasai land. Settle in and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the lodge, where you’ll have the opportunity to participate in frequent Maasai cultural activities.

After breakfast, begin your adventure with a scenic drive across the heart of Maasai Land, where open savannahs teem with wildlife and the landscape unfolds in dramatic beauty. Your journey takes you through the Enduimet Wildlife Management Area, a hidden gem behind Arusha National Park and the majestic Mount Meru, offering stunning views and chances to spot giraffes, zebras, and other plains game.

Continue past traditional Maasai villages and into the Longido Game Controlled Area, rich in both culture and nature. As you descend into the Great Rift Valley, the scenery shifts dramatically, revealing the surreal beauty of Lake Natron, home to thousands of flamingos, and the imposing silhouette of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, the sacred Maasai volcano. Upon arrival, check in at Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge, nestled at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Relax and soak in the views after an epic day.

Leave Lake Natron behind and embark on a scenic drive along the Great Rift Valley escarpment, taking in breathtaking views as you make your way toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park.

The scenery is breathtaking, with lush landscapes and a serene soda lake at its center. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your exploration. In the late afternoon, exit the crater and begin your journey to Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich destination.

Arrive in the evening and settle in for overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge, ready for a new adventure tomorrow.

Begin your day at Lake Eyasi with an unforgettable cultural experience. Spend the morning with the Hadzabe tribe, one of Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. Join them on a traditional hunt and learn about their ancient survival skills.

Later, visit the Datoga tribe, known for their blacksmithing and pastoral lifestyle. Gain insight into their customs, craftsmanship, and unique way of life. In the afternoon, meet local fishermen along the lake’s shores and observe their traditional fishing methods passed down through generations.

Enjoy an amazing game drive, where you may encounter herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and an incredible variety of birdlife.
